Finally! A policy for Medical Tourism of India to be rolled out on June 21st

On this National Yoga Day – June 21st 2017, India will get its first Medical Tourism and Wellness policy. This is an important step to encourage Medical Tourism in India & promote Indian wellness programmes and to bring cost transparency & trust of thousands of patients visiting India for medical treatments.

The Medical Tourism and Wellness Board (MTWB) chaired by Dr. Mahesh Sharma, constituted by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has also proposed that medical care assistance providers should also be registered and trained by Ministry of Tourism in alliance with Ministry of Health.

Also to push India’s wellness centers providing alternative treatments such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Naturopathy, Siddha and Homoeopathy, etc. NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers) has started accrediting such wellness centers.
